===== Adventuring around [[Cardum Swamp]] ===== Rich marsh land with abundant wildlife provides a good environment for the marshman culture and supports a number of secluded Village sites. Most are located beside ponds or along the slow moving streams that run through the marsh. One of these villages [[Porvenir]] is located in the north eastern portion of the swamp away from the "civilized" areas along the Cardum road. The bog men favor leather armor, longbows or short bows, spears, and a short sword. A few might have captured weapons taken from a raid outside the bog, or taken from bodies. Typically longsword, battle ax, or something utilitarian. They favor operating along but will be found working in small groups to help the clan survive (hunting, raiding, or gathering supplies from the more distant areas of the bog). They are excellent hunters and use stealth to stalk prey and invader alike. When operating alone they use a gillie suite and often smear muck on themselves to mask their sent. +4 bonus to stealth checks. ===== Underway Entrance ===== A forgotten entrance to the [[underway]] exists in the eastern edge of the swap. At one time this area was accessible by a trail that the swamp has long since re-claimed. The dragon [[Karul]] once considered using the cave for its home but its size was too small. He knows there is a larger tunnel complex behind it but has not investigated it further. ===== Village Life ===== The bandits of [[Porvenir]] range over a sizable area of the bog and prey on commerce along the trade Road that runs through [[Cardum]]. They know the trails and bog channels quite well. From their base hit tall Melbourne in the eastern reaches of the Cardum Swamp they have terrorized merchants and residents alike. What nobody suspects is the bandits have a partnership with a green dragon [[Karul]] who lives in the swamp, his presence helps keep soldiers away, and in exchange the bandits provide information about local politics that could spell trouble for the dragon. On occasion they have worked together to followup each others raids, collect the booty, and split the profits. [[Category:Ivae Orr Campaign]]
