{{Session |campaign=Ivae Orr |session_date=03 December 2022 |game_date=9 Early afternoon/evening Flocktime 30, CY621 |synopsis= Sardume - Envoy of Baron Dunthmore meets his demise, while the party discovers a dirty secret in Bexley |summary= Sardume arrives on horseback surrounded by a cloud of dust. He dismounts quickly and looking about demands to know the whereabouts of the usurpers. The recently converted guards look nervously about at each other, and back to the party for reassurance. Gallandrin restates they will be rewarded and protected if they serve loyally as Horin steps forward to acknowledge Sardumes question. The conversation escalates quickly as Sardume asserts the Barons rights over the land and to make the point the young noble draws his sword. The fight is over quickly and the smoldering arrow pierced and flame struck remains of his body fall forward with a thud. The guards still reeling from the last few minutes of revelations about the the party being their new liege lords and assertions of slave trading by the baron are further taken aback by the quickness of Sardume's demise. The party searches his horse and remains to find a scroll with a message written in common from the elves of the Ivae Orr offering to pay bounties for Dunthmores mens heads. A ring, some gems, his light warhorse, and coins round out his few belongings. Gallandrin offers to promote to guards who stood their ground if they accompany the party to Bexley to return the children. They are skeptical but Gallandrin is very persuasive (Crit success roll). The party decides to take Sardume's body along in an attempt to delay word (and evidence) of their attack on the Baron's family. The small detachment of 11 troops and the party head south and hope to make Bexley as the sun begins to set. By late afternoon a mere 4 miles from town a quickly volley of large boulder slams into the lead guard and injures Morin. Charging out they find a wandering hill giant coming towards them club upraised, he lands a few critical hits and tears up both the guards and party before finally being subdued. As they are not far from the place where the hobgoblin raider camp was sighted they decide to stage the bodies of the hill giant and Sardume to make it look like they killed each other while Mourn and Meat ride ahead to scout out the village of Bexley. Meats heads to the guard tower and notices the door is barred and garrisons colors are not flying. Mourn heads to the Apple Patch coach house to find quite a bit of boisterous activity but the creators don't take kindly to his arrival after he announces the party is returning with the stolen children. Mourn notices some seem perturbed by the news and slink off to the south while others hearts leap for joy, a bell begins toiling loudly and minutes later a crowd has begun to gather. Aldous the henpecked co-owner of the Apple Patch grumbles the loudest while his wife Margarete clearly seems eager to earn the parties favor. Hearing the bell a mile or more from town Gallandrin and Horin speed into town. Once there the sight of the Barons guards seems to calm tensions but the villagers are perplexed by the guards and parties seemingly good relationship. Gallandrin attempts to remove the coma like spell effect but is unable to wake the child. His mother takes him anyway and disappears into the darkness along with three other children and their parents. Other weeping parents beg the party to help them and appear to be nervous around some of the townsfolk. The party offers to take all those who want to come to Wanborne with them in the morning. The party tells everyone to go home and they kick everyone out of the coach house to settle in for the night. They move eight kids inside the common room while Gallandrin fights off the overt advances of Margarete who wishes to keep him (read intimate) and the kids company. Mourn assumes an overwatch position from the wagon, while Gallndrin and Horin take up position in the coach house. Meat begins a circular foot patrol keeping a few hundred feet out from the coach house watching for signs of trouble heading their way. Its dark and moonless so trouble could be hard to spot... |npcs= *Oleme *Gilren }}
