{{Session |campaign=Ivae Orr |session_date=Date: 7 July 2023 |game_date=Afternoon Wealson 4, CY621 |synopsis=The last charge of the light brigade |summary= The party still reeling from the first charge is unable to form a solid defense before the calvary wheel back through their broken lines. Each is hit a second and in some cases a third time by the calvarymans pikes and swords. Ragnum stunned and barely aware of his surroundings tries to raise a fist and yell out one last obscenity in defiance and manages only to partially raise his arm and mumble before he's brutally pounded into the earth as they charge past. Gallandin and Mourn recover enough to fire off a series of spells but the hits to teh head must have ruined Moruns focus as he does minimal damage with his conjure garage. Lanelor gets a glancing hit in but his opponent charge past before the blade can do much damage. In the midst of the chaos a lone elven ranger (Faerel) rides up quickly from the south road and fires off a few arrows pinning one of the calvary man now on foot about to strike Gallandinn from behind. As the remaining calvarymen charge back to where they initially started they wheel about again and start to reform into a tight wedge taking up the width of the road. Lanelor seeks a chance to ride up to Ragnum's location and just avoids being struck by one of the dismounted calvarymen as he casts lessor restoration on Ragnum. To the rear of the party Gallandinn begins a wholesale slaughter by fire of the surviving calverymen near him, while Mourn and Faerel mow down the others with well places bow shots. Now back in position to charge the calvary leader who goes by Sir Harold raises a gloved hand and signals parley at which point Ragnum steps forth and agrees to parley. Harold states they have orders from Erferil the leader of the Red Company to clear the road as far south as Cardum of goblins and surprisingly to the party even the Barons men are not to be spared. Harold states he's heard of the agreement with the party and the Red Company for free passage. As such they have no orders to attack the party and only attacked after they (Horin's spiritual hammer) attacked them first. The party clearly in no shape to take another charge agrees to allow the calvary to reclaim their dead and go about their business. Faerel notes the calvary have killed many elves and takes umbrage with the terms and Harolds haughty attitude but reluctantly stands down. The truce is short lived as the calvary leader accidentally bumps him with his horse as they ride past and through the party still standing on the road on the way to recover their dead. Faerel strikes Harold with his sword saying "better dead then Red!" and the battle resumes in earnest. With everyone now in melee distance the clary's advantage in speed and damage are reduced and the party finally catches a few lucky breaks with their spells and melee attacks. The battle ends quickly after another rounds of spell attacks decimate the closely grouped calvary at which point the party finishes them off with bow and sword. Searching the bodies they salavage about half of the armor and weapons along with a sizable bit of coin, gems, and some documents. They pile up the bodies and light a pyre to prevent Vellor from using them to resupply his army with "fresh" troops. As they take stock of the situation Rimweck points out they should go back underground as there will likely be more patrols (and undead) above ground. The options are to continue to Eleanor's house in Grenvik and attempt to find the flying machine to assault the keep from above or head back to the Purple Worm Mine entrance and try to make their way into the keep from below. They decide to head to Eleanor's house as its closest and seeing the pastures nearby it would be fun to "drop some cows onto the keep" to sow chaos inside but Mourn "fears if we drop a cow, that guy (the Baron) will fuck with us". Gathering their gear and loot they set off at a quick pace and as afternoon approaches ride up the SW entrance to the village of Grenvik. }}
