{{Session |campaign=Ivae Orr |session_date=21 July 2023 |game_date=Game Day: Evening Wealson 4, CY621 |synopsis=The party meets Eleanor while Rimweck's curiosity expands his mind beyond his body as the PC's find the airship in a sequestered manor house outside of town. |summary=After making their way into Grenvik they notice the village is in a state of controlled panic. The menfolk of fighting age are nowhere to be seen, an elderly man is busy packing up a wagon with his families belongings outside a simple coach house. A group of women and children are gathered amongst the few wagons hastening to depart as the party makes their way towards the group. The elderly man tell Lanelor the young men have all been recalled to the keep and the families are making their way to the Ivae Orr forest in the hopes the elves will take them in before they are overtaken by the Rippers or undead. Moving northward into town they notice most homes stand empty and unlike villages further to the south like Bexley or Wanborne are in good repair but appear to have been left in haste. Rimweck urges them on towards his Aunt Eleanor's to the NW side of town. They pass along the road bordering the small pond on the NW side of the town and notice a large shape just under the water move out to deeper water as they pass by. Rimweck knocks on the door and a few moments later a taller than expected elderly gnome female bids them entry. After introductions they sit down for sandwiches as Eleanor answers the parties questions about her husbands eccentric tinkering habits. They are left wondering why and how such an elderly gnome manages to live alone in region that seems generally hostile to demi-humans. Faerel bored with the pleasantries, steps outside and begins to explore the surrounding homes looking for materials to repair his bow. While Eleanor goes to get some drinks Gallandinn notes Eleanor's home is filled with a mix of eclectic books of arcane nature and Mourn observes the rug is made from a bugbear hide. Ragnum puts his best effort into convincing Eleanor of the nobility of their cause and is so thoroughly convincing Eleanor realizes Ragnum is truly the savior in plate-mail sent by the gods to free the demi-humans from the Barons iron grip. In celebration Eleanor returns with a cask of "Raker Highlands Whisky" that she gives to Ragnum in exchange for his offer of assistance and the party toasts to their success (extra HP for the next 24 hours) - they depart to her long missing husband Drandlar's workshop located in the woods to the SE of Grenvik. Meanwhile Faerel has found a set of leather working tools and enough raw materials to repair his bow which he quickly does before heading back to Eleanors house. Finding the party has left he tracks them to Drandlar's workshop. Arriving at Drandlar's workshop they find the door and windows to be warded with magical glyph's. Unable to shoot or blast their way in, Lanalor sets of the glyph knocking him backwards but the door remains shut. Gallandinn casts a passwall spell and enters the workshop finding it full of workbenches with a mix of projects in various states of completion. The rest of party follows him through the portal and begins investigating the ground and upper floors. Gallandinn, Lanalor, and Mourn head upstairs and discover the airship in a state of partial assembly. Ragnum and Eleanor check out the cellar while Horin and Faerel search of the ground floor turns up a trove of spell and arcane material components. Rimweck is like a kid in the candy store and left unattended by the party begins randomly mixing colorful vials of chemicals that moments later result in a catastrophic explosion that rips through the ground floor. The blast rocks the building, and destroy many of the material components stockpiled around the room. Most of the party is unscathed save for some burns but nothing is left of Rimweck except for his smoking boots and some hunks of flesh that drip off the ceiling. Horin proceeds to clean up the mess while the Ragnum consoles Eleanor. Lanalor, Mourn and Gallandinn investigate the partially assembled airship and are unable to figure out its workings without more study. The party reassembles the remnants of Drandlar's notes. The notes cover multiple projects and raw materials needed to complete them and would be worth a few hundred GP to a sage. As its now late in the day the party gathers everyone upstairs to minimize being detected while Gallandinn studies the airboat and construction notes. After two failed attempts and near mental breakdown after eight hours of frustrating study, Gallandinn finally decodes Drandlar's notes and discovers how to reassemble the airboat. He decides to tackle how to operate it in the morning. As the party drifts off to sleep, the sound of war drums echoing softly in the far distance. |npcs= *Eleanor *Rimweck }}
