{{Session |campaign=Ivae Orr |session_date=04 August 2023 |game_date=Morning Wealson 6, CY62 |synopsis=The party heads up, up and away... |summary=The party heads off to a well deserved rest while Mourn takes first watch. Midway through the night a swarm of giant insects arrives but is unable to find entry and instead cover the windows blotting out the moon. Mourn keeps and eye on them and as Lanalor takes over the watch the insects continue to buzz until the dawn drives them off. Gallandinn wakes and resumes his study of the machine while the remainder of the party re-assembles the airship and seeks out fuel for the boiler. Deep in the basement the dwarves find a few hogsheads of coal that Ragnum and Eleanor drag up two stories. Exhausted by the effort Horin takes a turn dragging up a barrel while the remainder of the party climb aboard as Mourn ties himself to the ship and activates the winch mechanism as Gallandinn activates the runes around the ships helm. Mourn is unable to free the winch brake and hacking at it with his sword the roof snaps opens launching the ship into the air. Mourn is dragged airborne and after some effort pulls himself aboard. He glimpses a dark shadow flying high above the clouds but is unable to make out the type of creature. After some fumbling with the controls, Gallandinn snaps the helm hard over sending everyone sliding toward the deck edge while Ragnum topples over the side plummeting 40 feet to the ground. Gallandinn manages to land the craft near the house and they load 10 barrels of oil, 1 barrel of explosives, and another barrel of coal. In the confusion before heading back skyward the party fails to notice a dragon and its rider before they are enveloped in a cloud of noxious gas incapacitating 1/2 the party. Gallandinns chain lightening and Mourns arrow fire strike the dragon and rider hard. The rider, a striking female dressed in ancient looking plate unleashes a flame strike upon the party. Ragnum shouts out they have no quarrel with them and to seek Vellor out as hes responsible for her mates death. Upon hearing that the dragon and its rider head back up into the clouds leaving a stunned party to bind their wounds before relaunching the airship. Their attempt to set a course towards the Keep fails as a gust of wind snaps the sails around and blows them SE between the swamp and the keep. By the time they take control of the airship they are a dozen miles east of the keep. Gallandinn sets course back to the keep but lose control again and this time they head north as dusk now turns to night. At midnight they attempt to head back and manage by the dawn find themselves back over the Ripper highlands. Gallandinn resumes control of the helm and they head west towards the keep as dawn breaks. A few miles to the west the party sees an orange blaze on the horizon a plume of black smoke rising from the keep. Its too far away to tell if its Vellor or Stirkirk's forces who have laid siege to the keep... |npcs= Miriam Furweather }}
