{{Session |campaign=Corsairs |session_date=03 May 2024 |game_date=Afternoon, CY627 |synopsis= War drums in the mines |summary= Aldran and balmaris who were both outside investigating the goblin tracks hear the sound of the war drums and head back inside. They see the smouldering bodies of the goblins and Aldran lets out a shout that alerts the party, they open the door and join Aldran, Balmaris and Ricfire in the hallyway. Aldran hears more than the sound of drums, at least half a dozen goblins, and some heavy chains. The party begins stacking the smouldering goblin bodies to form a makeshift barrier. Before they can complete their defenses the Goblins attack from the south passage. Two volleys of arrows are traded with Balmaris and Durmen taking who are hit with small blackened arrows that seem to do no damage but leave them in an altered state of mind unable to cast spells while their mind is addled. ===Death by a thousand cuts=== As the goblins continue to snipe at the party from the south passageway the partys retaliates in kind. Their return fire is viscious, each arrow shot and spell (Eldritch Blast) takes out a goblin. One of the two reamining goblins fless back down the passage towards the sound of the drums. One of the goblins appears from nowhere and uses small flaming arrows to splatter buring oil (or is it goblin poop) on the party. The shots are mostly inefective but do serve as a reminder that though most of the goblins lie dead the remainder will be difficult to eradicate. Nail, Aldran, and Egon begin moving down the passage weapons drawn as Balmaris and Durmen wander around in a daze. Ricfire moves up to the intersection using the wall as cover while he fires arrows down the passage. As Nail, Aldran, and Egon reach the end of the passage it opens into a larger common room. Coming through a passage on the west side is a ogre, dragging two heavy chains they heard before. He moves into the room, blocking off the passage. Aldran rages as he and the Ogre trade blows with javelins. Aldran draws first blood though not nearly as much as the ogres strike. As his rage consumes him Aldran's wild magic creates a third eye that appears on his forehead. Nail, and Egon continue to attack the ogre wearing it down with small but effective hits. Finally Ricfire executes the beast with a well placed shot, dropping it with a thud. ===Clean Up=== They remove the heads and stack the bodies. They decide not to burn the corpses figuring that if the wight does ressurect them they will beheadless zombies and not really a threat. Moving further into the mine they come across yet another room off the main tunnel. Int the shadows Aldaran's thrid eye picks out a figure chained to the wall. [[File:Fat merchant.png|thumb|The merchant prisoner]] The party moves into the room and finds a human mearchant and a dwarf vetran hhave been taken prisoner. Ricfire attempts to unclock the merchants shackles but only gets one off before Balmaris yells out theres something in the passage moving into the room. ===Wet walls=== An ooze makes its way slowly into the room and attempts to attack Balamris who responds with multiple spells some of which seem entirely uneffecgtive. They trade hits and misses before Durmen joins in the battel followed by everyone else. The group takes turns moving up to attack the ooze as the halway is but 5' wide. During this process the ooze attempts to envelop Nail and while his hits seem to do damage his sword begins to pit and blacken as he watches. At last Nail manages to kill the beast and the party completes looting the bodies. ===The Mearchant makes his move=== They return to the task of freeing the prisoners and after some lively talk about what to do with the merchant and the Dwarf veteran they decide to tell the merchant to stay with the threee dwarves in the vault room. He refuses to leave with knowing what happened to Lucinda. The dwarf who goes by Gaylor Steel Foot asks for a weapon and shield so he can accompany the party on their mine clearning. [[File:Doppelgänger.png|thumb|alt=Doppelgänger]] Meanwhile Aldran finally gets tired of the merchants arguing and takes the merchant up to the front of the mine. As he begins to unlock the door he notices the fat merchant has become rather tall and skiny and is moving to attack him! |NPCS= *Gaylor Steel Foot *Frederick & Lucinda *Garlock the Veteran }}
