At the break of day Gallandinn sends out three patrols, one to the north, east, and south to scout for signs of the undead army with orders to return by midday. The townsfolk report that the well has been poisoned since the undead assaulted the town a day prior and they are running low on water. [[Horin]] nervously takes a look down the well and spots rotted body parts. After some exhausting cleansing rituals Horin is unable to totally purify the well himself. He begins creating food and water to tide the villages along with the growing army over but will only be able to sustain the hundreds of lives for a few days. Over breakfast [[Allain]] returns to speak with his master Horin and ask for guidance. He sends him out to gather the Flan elders to help cleanup the well.

This Session[edit source]

At the break of day Gallandinn sends out three patrols, one to the north, east, and south to scout for signs of the undead army with orders to return by midday. The townsfolk report that the well has been poisoned since the undead assaulted the town a day prior and they are running low on water. Horin nervously takes a look down the well and spots rotted body parts. After some exhausting cleansing rituals Horin is unable to totally purify the well himself. He begins creating food and water to tide the villages along with the growing army over but will only be able to sustain the hundreds of lives for a few days. Over breakfast Allain returns to speak with his master Horin and ask for guidance. He sends him out to gather the Flan elders to help cleanup the well.

Just after mid-day the northern scout reports he sighted the undead army a mile south of Oleg Keep heading north, they are gathering in the bog outside the town of Grenvik. The eastern patrol never returns. The scout sent south says he saw signs just past Bexley the army abruptly changed course and headed north. (He doesn't know it changed course to follow Ragnum) He followed it towards the Purple Worm mine when he spotted a group of undead giants guarding the entrance then headed back to Wanborne.

At this news the party debates their next step. The general sense is they should just let the undead assault and take Oleg Keep for them so they don't have to deal with the Baron and his men. Mourn sourly points out "if the undead win, you'll just have more undead" to which Meat sarcastically replies "well that's true" and they go back to grappling with the fact the army they will likely end up fighting doesn't get smaller.

Mourn orders a group of twelve riders to head north to warn the villagers of Grenvik to flee before the undead arrive. They continue to argue about joining the Baron or letting him battle Vellor's troops. The party's debate is broken up by the sounds of horns blaring in alarm. They rush outside and see troops forming up. Stirkirk roars orders out to rally the company and prepare to join the glorious assault on Oleg Keep. Briefly taken aback by the sudden decision to assault the keep, the party quickly rallies the remainder of their forces and joins Burtons Irregulars on their march north to Oleg Keep.

Erstwhile at the Purple Worm Mine

Wealson 5th - evening

Ragnum introduces himself to Rimweck the Gnome tour guide, chatty and yet seemingly oblivious to the chaos around the area he goes about talking with Ragnum about the Mines history. Of interest to Ragnum is the fact that some of the most vile denizens of the deep underdark such as the Drow and perhaps even Mind Flayers have passed by Rimweck without so much a scratch on him seems incredulous. Not long after they find themselves over a mile into the tunnel complex moving along the main path cut by a purple worm some 25 years prior. Thinking they've reached a good spot to stop for a long rest, Ragnum notices some odd noises from the far side of the cave but decides to let sleeping things lie and follows suite.

Wealson 6th - morning

The next morning he awakens to find Rimweck curled up next to him sleeping like a baby. Ragnum decides to head out instead of deeper into the mines though Rimweck says he could likely get to where he's going by taking one of the tunnels. Not wanting to chance the underdark alone he heads to the surface and find the entrance guarded by two undead hill giants. Rimweck spots a side tunnel they dart into, moments later the giant smashes a boulder into the ceiling bringing debris down on the two of them. Rimweck casts a spell upon the giant and escapes past to faces the remaining undead blocking their exit. Ragnum turns the undead sending it running out of the mine clearing an exit path for them to find Ragnums horse and head off to Wanborne at a gallop.

The army sallies forth to Grenvik

Lanalor rides out ahead of the army with four rangers looking for signs of the undead lurking ahead. A few hours later a strange looking rider at a ful gallop charges towards them, weapons readied in an instant, Lanalor recognizes Ragnum and the group holds fire. They exchange a few words about the current situation before Ragnum heads onward toward Wanborne - Rimweck holding on anxiously. Not long afterwards Lanalor and his scouts come across a group of elves riding cautiously, almost nervously it seems towards Wanborne. They halt and hail each other from 20 yards, bows at the ready...
