The Snapping Line
"You step inside The Snapping Line, a tavern that smells strongly of salt, stale beer, and pipe smoke. It’s located near the docks of Coregilia, and the clientele is mostly made up of weathered sailors, dockworkers, and the occasional nervous merchant. The lighting is dim, provided by oil lamps, and the rough-hewn wood furniture looks built to withstand a brawl. Behind the worn bar stands a large, jovial man with a booming laugh—Abe Falstaff, the owner."
Notes:
* **Owner:** **Abe Falstaff**—A large, boisterous man with a deep voice and a red face. He is surprisingly quick to diffuse fights and has a reputation for keeping his promises. He's often found wiping down the same spot on the bar.
- **Specialty:** Known for its cheap, potent ale called **"Rope Burn"** (DC 10 Constitution save or suffer the effects of the poisoned condition for 1 hour).
- **Atmosphere:** The tavern is famous for a low-stakes **knife-throwing game** played against a dartboard, where the *snapping line* refers to the tight rope separating the thrower from the audience.
- **Patrons:** Primarily **seamen** (CR 1/8) and **thugs** (CR 1/2). Rumors about smuggling and dockside activities can be easily overheard (Perception DC 13).
- Liza who goes by the name "The Siren of Solonor Shore" is often found here singing and looking for company. On occasion Lilia Broadsides can be found here as well but Abe does not like her attitude so she keeps a low profile when present.
- **Secret:** A loose brick behind the fireplace conceals a small coffer belonging to Abe, used for keeping emergency funds or paying off local gang leaders.
