Bexley

The town boasts a small guard tower garrisoned by 8-12 spearmen who spend most of their time gambling or harassing the travelers.

  • The road to the south of town dead ends and fades out to grassland. A successful DC20 Perception check will notice a trail lead off towards a small rise a few miles to the SW. The Bexley Standing Stones can be found here. The abandoned trail leads towards Whisper Mill and from there to the village of Wanborne.

The owner goes by the name Aldous Accord but his real name is Thriven Dormor a retired assassin who still does odd jobs for the Scarlet Brotherhood. Aldus is married to Margarete, a loud, nagging, and outlandishly dressed "former" prostitute who will offer her services just to spite her Aldous. There are usually 4-8 patrons inside, typically farmers or shepherds. Towards evening there may be 1-3 travelers staying the night.

Over the past few months Aldous has been meeting with a Hobgoblin Warlord named Xobzag from the Ripper tribe to barter for slaves.

Specials:

  • Duck Cake with Cake and a Glass of Whiskey (5 sp)
  • Beef Soup (3 sp)
  • Turnip Pie with Onion and a Glass of Whiskey (5 sp)

Owner: Eloise Mundy, Human (FTR 7)

Eloise keeps an eye out for opportunities to make a few extra gold. She's been known to "fix" a wagon if it appears the merchant can afford the repair cost. She works with Aldous to keep tabs on who's coming and going though she doest know he works for the Scarlet Brotherhood.

Most of the implements here are farm related though some basic dungeon gear is available.

  • The tower is occupied by a small garrison of 8-12 men at arms, one sergeant, one corporal.
  • Roving patrols on horseback stop/leave here on a weekly basis. If in town add another 4-6 men at arms and one corporal will be present.
  • The smaller building used to serve as a chapel to Obad-Hai and a hall for feats and gatherings but now is used for storage. The main entrance to the tower is through the building.
    • First Floor - Well, and dry goods storage
    • Second Floor - Kitchens, workshops
    • Third Floor - Men at Arms barracks, and armory. Weapons stored along the walls.
    • Forth Floor - Officers and NCO quarters
    • Roof - Ballista and 30 rounds of ammo.

  • A search of the commons may turn up a few lost coins.

Small Cottage Owner: Chad Feeny

The house is a timber and brick cabin, with a brown tile roof and a row of flowers around the building. It contains a single bachelor-style room with a bed and chest, along with a dresser on the far wall. In one corner is brick hearth with a cauldron over the fire. A bunch of dried fruit hangs from the ceiling in long strands. A few sheep are grazing at a hay bale in the corner.

Cruck House Owner: Ralf Heiser The house is a plaster simple building, with a green tile roof and vines covering the walls and roof. It contains 4 rooms total with 1 bedroom, each containing a dresser. The kitchen has a small firepit with cold coals. Outside is a beautifully manicured garden of flowers, and a small apiary sits just outside the door with honeybees buzzing to and fro.
