Synopsis:
The party still reeling from the first charge is unable to form a solid defense before the calvary wheel back through their broken lines. Each is hit a second and in some cases a third time by the calvarymans pikes and swords. Ragnum stunned and barely aware of his surroundings tries to raise a fist and yell out one last obscenity in defiance and manages only to partially raise his arm and mumble before he's brutally pounded into the earth as they charge past.
Gallandin and Mourn recover enough to fire off a series of spells but the hits to teh head must have ruined Moruns focus as he does minimal damage with his conjure garage. Lanelor gets a glancing hit in but his opponent charge past before the blade can do much damage. In the midst of the chaos a lone elven ranger rides up quickly from the south road and fires off a few arrows pinning one of the calvary man now on foot about to strike Gallandinn from behind.
As the remaining calvarymen charge back to where they initially started they wheel about again and start to reform into a tight wedge taking up the width of the road. Lanelor seeks a chance to ride up to Ragnum's location and just avoids being struck by one of the dismounted calvarymen as he casts lessor restoration on Ragnum. To the rear of the party Gallandinn begins a wholesale slaughter by fire of the surviving calverymen near him, while Mourn and Farel mow down the others with well places bow shots.
Now in position to charge the calvary leader raises a gloved hand and signals parley at which point Ragnum steps forth. Announcing they are to clear the road to Knurl of goblins and surprisingly to the party even the Barons men the calvary state they have no orders to attack the party and only attacked as the party attacked them first. The party in no shape to take another charge agrees to allow the calvary to reclaim their dead. Farel takes umbrage with the terms and the haughty attitude of the calvary leader who brushes him with his horse as they ride past to recover their dead.
With everyone now in melee distance the odds are better and the party catches a few lucky breaks with their spells and melee attacks.
