He primarily uses this to vet patrons he finds suspicious. **Trained Resilience.** Ellison has advantage on saving throws against being poisoned or against diseases.

    • Parry.** Ellison adds 2 to his AC against one melee attack that would hit him. To do so, Ellison must see the attacker and be wielding a melee weapon.

Roleplaying Notes

Ellison maintains a friendly, but watchful demeanor. He is quick to offer a drink but slow to offer information, viewing every patron as a potential security risk. He values property damage above all other crimes committed on his premises.

Appearance A burly human man in his mid-40s, with a clean-shaven head and a no-nonsense expression. He wears a simple leather apron over surprisingly thick clothing (hiding his plate armor).
Voice/Mannerisms Gruff but fair. He leans on the bar or cleans glasses, rarely standing still, and maintains constant eye contact.
Bond The Purple Worm Coach House (his retirement and livelihood).
Ideal Order. Society functions best when everyone sticks to their own business and pays their debts.
Flaw Healthy skepticism of Demi-humans, though he hides it well for the sake of coin. **A tendency to trust gold over character.**
Info Ellison is a retired adventurer who now owns the Purple Worm Coach House. While he doesn't tolerate high crimes, he allows patrons of nearly any disposition as long as they pay and don't cause property damage.
