Session 142 The Robot Gauntlet and Egon's Tripping Jokes

Session Summary

Synopsis

The party immediately faces the "Purge" threat. Balmaris successfully bluffs a robot to avoid capture. The session erupts into chaos as the party tries to aid a second Police Robot under attack from a massive Vegepygmy gang. The severely injured party is saved by the sudden intervention of the newly conscious Robo Dame (the "Nurse"). After losing one robot, the party forces a desperate stalemate, turning the entire battlefield into a deadly mess of vines and brush after casting an entangle spell.

The Second Wave and Egon's Ordeal

The session began in the standoff with the two Police Robots. One robot immediately headed West to purge the fungal infection, while the other focused on the party.

• Egon's State: Poision Egon trailed the robot, announcing he was "comfortably numb" and under the influence of the injection. He ignored the robot's commands.

• Balmaris's Bluff: The robot demanded Balmaris's ID. Balmaris successfully bluffed (Dirty 20 roll) that the card must be outside. The robot accepted and ordered Balmaris, Durmen (who cast Mage Armor on himself), and Egon to follow him North for mandatory security processing, temporarily delaying conflict.

• Robo Dame Activated: The healing process completed: Robo Dame's twitching stopped, and she snapped up into a sitting position, fully conscious and active. Nail began a much-needed rest in the dining room.

The West Corridor Massacre

• Droid in Distress: Durmen spotted the first Police Robot being torn apart by a large gang of 8-12 Vegepygmies in the West corridor. The remaining robot immediately abandoned the party and ran West toward the fight, forcing Durmen to sprint and gain 1 level of Exhaustion.

• Allied Fire: Durmen and Balmaris engaged to support the robot with Firebolt. Egon, though distracted (telling Christmas jokes and gaining an Inspiration Point), managed to land a Chill Hand spell.

• Critical Hits: The Vegepygmies repeatedly struck Balmaris, putting him perilously close to death. They also struck the robot, destroying its eye. Durmen used Ice Knife and the droid unleashed a Sonic Blast (critical hit).

Rescue, Destruction, and Entanglement

• Robo Dame's Rescue: Just as Balmaris was about to fall, Robo Dame (the "nurse") rushed from the South, grabbed Balmaris, dragged him away, and administered a healing potion, saving his life. Durmen ran toward her.

• Shaman Attack: A Vegepygmy Shaman joined the battle, inflicting the Rust condition on two droids. The pygmies successfully destroyed one Police Robot.

• Unseen Threat: The players glimpsed one surviving Police Robot using a powerful, unknown purple-red beam of light to cut through a southern group of Vegepygmies.

• Final Standoff: Egon shook off his trip to cast a critical Entangle on 11 pygmies. Durmen followed this up with Burning Hands, then a final, desperate Entangle that affected 12 targets, successfully freezing the last two robots and the remaining Vegepygmies.

Reinforcements Arrive!

The session ended as more Vegepygmies arrived from the West, observing the mess of vines and bloody remnants of their compatriots.
